I am now, I think, properly motivated to learn the left-handed branch of the powers we were granted here. Particularly since I now know of some very interesting uses of liminal and psychic power used in concert.

You were quite correct to assume the distinction was blurry, Thorne. By the way. I know you already had theoretical proof but that's quite different from seeing actual practice.

So. Enlighten me. How can one use notionally psychic powers?

Using psychic skills works a lot like liminal, in that the most important thing is will and intent, but instead of working with tangible things, you are manipulating ideas and data--which around here are basically tangible too.

It helps a lot to approach it metaphorically. For Livestreaming, you need to focus on your eyes like they're a camera and your ears like they're microphones. For checking the Network archives, imagine you're taking a book down from a shelf and inside are the records of our conversation.

Useful metaphors - and highly useful abilities. I will work on my recall.

What of defense against eavesdroppers? Are those prerequisite to it? I suspect they're needed for what I saw me use.

...it may be prudent to speak of that in private, or with a practical demonstration of a psychic veil.

I don't think there's any specific pre-requisites for psychic protection, just that you've got enough practice working with it that you can do at least one thing.

I need to learn that stuff too! Future Me was using that thing where pets can do network stuff, but I only know how to livestream stuff right now.

Given the skills that I already have, livestreaming and archival seem like useful skills in their own right.

Ahahaha, I did not realize that familiars and companions could be invited to the Network. Splendid.

Yeah, Kanji figured it out! And I think a couple other people can now, although I dunno if we can give them Liminal skills or just psychic stuff.

It's a poor Witch that can't lend life and power to her creations, yes. Certainly worth looking into.

I am certain Beatrice will be thrilled.

I think Future Rose is right. At least, some of the stuff Riddick got from Interfacing implies that Fortune didn't see any difference.

She was turning liminal skills into psychic. I really hope it's a while before she learns that one.

As someone with powers broad and strong enough to enforce elimination rounds - and mulligans - on Liminal Space, I'm inclined to take Fortuna's word for it.

And the word of a girl native to this realm, as yours is, Washburne.

SHe understands it on a completely different level than the rest of us.

You have to wonder how much we can infer about the Arcana's assumptions just by observing the ones Rosie makes.

I find a lot of it comes down to feeling out the connections between people and finding that bit of them that's just them. About half the psychic stuff starts to make sense from there.

A skillset I've allowed to atrophy. That needs swift correction.

Ah. Jaina Solo, was it? You would be an expert on the subject, given your homeworld. And your parents - I remember our discussion on your grandfather.

That's right. The network isn't all that different from the Force.

I'm used to feeling for those connections and flows.

My experiences tended more towards liminal power, to probability sight and manipulation. Relearning my assumptions has been easier than others might find it.

That's the side of things I've only got the basics on. I should... probably change that, if they're that connected.
