[It isn't too long into the Jaunt before Ryo's excited voice comes through on the network.]

[And Hajime's far more exhausted mental voice comes in afterwards.]

This is Hajime, we, ah, did that thing where we're both infiltrating and not infiltrating, and there's some kind of space base out here with a lot of aliens bent on conquering Earth to take care of some bioweapon? I just...don't really know what's going on beyond that.

[Ryo cuts in again.]

And we're mantises! Mantis people are normal here! Not many of them, but enough to be normal! IS AMAZING!

Oh, he's worried. Hoping the mech will keep them isolated and safe.

But he's even more worried about the possibility of it spreading to other worlds, and he wants to teach the kid the value of seeing something through.

Look, I'm not saying I think he's the greatest decision-maker ever.

This has probably been his favorite Jaunt so far, aside from when we met in Questing Country.

Do you want us to try to find you and give you a bit of a tour? Zippy's very interested in all the different species here, so I don't think it would be suspicious.

I wouldn’t mind it. I’m still trying to get used to my legs, and walking around is probably the only way that’s going to happen.
