Locked to Travelers excepting Maria; Backdated to Day 2 of the maze liminal

[And psychic protection is go for good measure.]

I'm sure the lot of you heard Raidou's warning that the Illuminants have found a way to tether themselves to Liminal Space.

For those of you fortunate enough to not know what that means, the Illuminants are powerful magical parasites that we first encountered in a place called Dolorosa several years ago. They have a nasty habit of possessing some poor magically gifted bastard and sucking them dry, while wreaking absolute fucking havoc on the magical balance of the land around them. In Dolorosa, they spawned a plague of curses and a plague of dragons. In Misericordia, it was just the dragons that we witnessed, though gods alone know what other hell they unleashed afterward.

They managed to break into Liminal Space the second time we were in the world that served as their playground, but our hosts weren't inclined to share, and before now they've not shown a knack for leaping between worlds under their own power - visions of dubious provenance notwithstanding. If they've figured out how to ride the Trumps' coattails - or manage to take over Liminal Space - that's bad fucking news for the next world we encounter, to say nothing of our own homes.

Which brings me to the point of this little attempt to reach out. I think that if we can yank them all the way through into Liminal Space, we can temporarily cut them off from the majority of their power, and kill them both here and in their own world before they can find some other place to play the parasite.

If you're willing to help with the summoning, or to travel by Bridge to break their places of power while we've got them in a trap, then tell me what you have to offer. If you're not, then stay well clear - we don't need any unexpected nooks and crannies for them to ooze into.

Honestly? I'm not sure it even has a distance limit. I know it's got a time limit and I can only use it once a week, but I've never actually tried it out. Love's effects reaching across time and space is kind of on brand, though.

We could use it to strengthen two for the cost of one, but they'd share injuries as well so it could also incapacitate two for the cost of one.

All right.

I know this is personal for a lot of people, but I've got no stake in those guys as individuals. Point me at one and I'm good to go.

[Altair had told her to calm down, and what better way to do that than to kick an evil wizard in the face?]

It's a directed energy sort of thing: powerful, but with a relatively narrow beam. The enemies we were fighting were vulnerable to damage from electricity. Ideal range is about two hundred meters.

Unless the big thing had a weak spot, like vulnerable legs or something. I think in the world it comes from it's mostly used to lay suppressing fire.

...Right. If it's a lightning dragon or something it won't help at all, and I'd probably need someone to do the aiming so I could focus on the generator, but I'm sure we could swing it.

Ah. My only experience with dragons thus far was that water one from Bando, and we didn't fight it.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but yeah, I think we could handle that.

Two years ago I didn't even think dragons were real, so...

Probably I don't want to know this, but do you mean face-stealing like they're shape shifters or literally?

Shit, sorry.

Sounds like the kind of thing I should take great pleasure in shooting with a laser.
