He's like eight, he'll probably be around nine or ten when they get there. But he seems like he'll bounce back. He's that kind of kid... and he's got friends around he can lean on.

... Maybe - do you think it'd be a bad idea to try to find him?

No - you'd have to be careful in how you approach him, but I don't think it would be a bad thing to check in and see how he's doing. I've never tried it myself, but I know some of us have spoken with our previous overlays before.

Thankfully I'm 'an authority figure' now, considering I'm an Oracle, so it's not super out of the ordinary for one to check on a kid all by himself, probably?
