Check-In [Week 1]

All right, you know the deal. If you're yourself, psychically raise your hand.

Or, uh, if that doesn't make sense to you, just... let people know you're you. I'm myself, obviously, but I have no idea what the hell my archetype or role is. I was infiltrating last time as Ace -

- shit, I need to avoid him. Anyway! Yeah. Uh. ... Yeah...

[His psychic voice just trails off as the awkward overtakes him.]

How do oracle powers work?

[Gladhalagon had been supremely uninterested in anything but keeping the kidlets safe; Laughs hadn't really learned a ton about anything while with him, despite his many years of experience.]

[Well, that sounds unhelpful for figuring the aspect out.

...] How do the locals figure out their aspect?

...I could go asking.

[Not that it has anything to do with why they're here, but it could work as a conversation starter. And maybe even enlighten him about what the hell is up with himself and Casper.]

You've been an authority figure before. I'm sure you can do it again, [he reassures.]

And they are no weirder than anyone else, all in one. [Weird has started to be a pretty useless category after how long they've been travelling.]

They just don't like for us to achieve the best results that we could if that comes at the expense of struggling.

[In the end, it's a game to them. A game with lives and the fate of whole communities. Which ...well, they never claimed to have a system of reason and moral that even remotely resembles that of their play pieces. Which is why Laughs doesn't think that they're evil as a whole. More just... well. Very high level spirits, is what they are.

So his tone is neither amused nor angry, only factual.]
