Hi everyone! So, um, I've found out some stuff and... made some stuff up and Zatanna and I had a thought about something. ...I'll keep the stuff I made up and the stuff I found out separate.

The big thing I guess is that if everything goes like it's supposed to, the ships people are working on should be up and flying within a few days. There's a Tachyon storm coming and so everyone needs to get off planet. The thought we had is that we didn't know if the network would still connect us all if we're on different ships? If there's a range to how far we can be before the network stops working for everyone. I don't know if that'll happen or not, but if it does then we figured it would be better for us all to be prepared for the idea rather than freak out when it's cut off.

Um, other stuff... yeah, so, this world is connected to Questing Country. Hecatites and Gorgons are both a thing here- so far I've seen Charoite, Luci, and Kore but there might be more wandering around. There are also Diabolins, and apparently they used to have a history of kidnapping people from pre-space flight species, so if you want to claim to be from something like that you could. Earth is the human homeworld, but apparently they only got into space recently. Or, at least this far in to space. Ships crash here a lot, too, so that's a good excuse for being here. Otherwise everyone is like exiled or imprisoned here, unless they're born here. Everyone except humans throw people here as punishment, apparently. There are weird fire worms that eat metal away from the town... oh! And whoever Kanji is Infiltrating as is an astronomer who's watching the storm. If anyone knows anything about that kind of stuff, I think he could use some help.

[aaaand now for the stuff Phillip made up, where his voice sounds distinctly more sheepish.]

Also, if anyone needs a cover story, I kind of made up a species so I wouldn't have to deal with not knowing anything about what Earth is like at this point. I can probably add more things to it to cover random Traveler stuff- I might say we can telepathically communicate with each other so we could use the network and things- so if anyone wants to use, it let me know and I'll figure out how to try and make it plausible.

It is interesting information. I have no need to use it, I believe. The people here think me some sort of unnatural human. Or perhaps not human at all.

Yeah, the Questing Country stuff is something to watch out for if you've got a spirit animal hanging around. Ryo and I almost had a problem, but we handled it.

The Questing Country...? So, we have returned to the world of a previous Jaunt? Interesting...

It's not exactly the same, since Questing Country was in dreams and also we seem to be waaaaaay in the future? But yeah. I've been recognized/told I look familiar a few times.

The same general universe, then, if not exactly the same setting. Something to consider once we have settled ourselves here.

Yeah. I'm not sure how much it'll affect us, since we're clearly not focused on Questing Country, but it does mean I've been recognized a couple of times.

Has being recognized posed a problem for you so far? Or do you believe it will in the future?

Not yet- apparently it's been long enough that they think who I was in Questing Country should be my grandfather, or something, so it's easy to get by with saying I'm not the Champion of Stars. I'm mostly worried about so many of us popping up in one place.

Once is understandable. Twice in a coincidence. With the numbers we have? It might look really suspicious.

A fair point. Though most of the people I have observed, Travelers or otherwise, seem more interested in getting off the planet than in scrutinizing new arrivals. Caution is warranted, but I doubt anyone will have time to try connecting dots they are unaware even exist in the first place.

I presume your cover story only accounts for human-seeming Travelers?

[Phillip thinks about this for a moment.] Right now, yeah, but it wouldn't be hard to change it. Just say we're shapeshifters or something. I've been pretty vague so far.

It may be more useful to leave it as-is. I and at least one other Traveler have appeared without the usual human guise... If we can present ourselves as members of different alien species, it may make us less conspicuous as a group. And we may stand a better chance of overhearing any untoward rumors about the rest of you, if they believe we are not affiliated with your cover species.

Ok. That works, too. [he might keep the shape-shifting thing in mind, just in case, but having multiple species could spread it out.]

That is settled, then. Are there any other concerns about this Jaunt? Beyond the obvious, that is.

Ummmm. Nothing I've been able to figure out so far. I guess we just need to focus on the ships and trying to figure things out about the storm itself.

Ho ho ho, quite so. I have no desire to be stuck on this planet when the storm's source arrives.

Smart move. I'd say leave the telepathy quiet unless we need to let it slip, but it's a good excuse. If you need to deflect questions, it might help to claim a behavior is religious - people have enough taboos about their superstitions to get startled and sensitive about asking sensible questions.

Just the obvious. A heavy gravity, high radiation starship dump.

Probably with some kind of orbital defenses.

Orbital defenses? Like what?

Couldn't say. But all the ships I'm seeing are small. You don't drive a subcompact to a salvage yard if you want to pick something up - you bring the biggest vehicle you can fit in the front gates. If they could get away with bringing big freighters down to haul away whatever they find that's useful, they would. So they're evading something, and that's why they've got a lot of little, quick gunships down here and nothing else.

Oh. That makes sense. [he guesses. tbh tim could make an argument in the exact opposite direction and if it sounded plausible, Phillip would buy it.] Should we worry about that when the ships go up, then?

There was a jaunt a while back now where a bunch of people decided to cover up for not knowing what was going on by saying they were from 'Kansas.' It ended up being pretty suspicious and caused a few problems... But if we're not all trying to use the same story, it probably won't be an issue this time around.

[Although he'd still love to know where 'Kansas' actually is.]

I'm okay! It's just hard to shake them off when they're trying to get at something you can't just toss away.

Kansas is in the midwest of the United States. I'm pretty sure there's nothing there but farms and tornados. [phillip that's rude. and also entirely based on a musical.]

Oh. Maybe that's why they picked it... [Not that he knows what a tornado is, either, but it sounds legit.]
