and now a word about our sponsors
I have analyzed the structure of the current manifestation of Liminal Space, and can confirm that this Jaunt is being sponsored by three of the Arcana: Emperor, Lovers, and Chariot.
Unless I've missed something significant while reviewing the discussions that took place over the Network while I was absent, this is without precedent, at least within the current iteration of their...game. [There's a hint of distaste in that last word.]
While it is far less important than the impact our interference might have on this universe, the most pressing question that comes to mind with regards to our own status is whether this will remove only the Arcanum whose idiom is least reflected in the outcome from the playing field, or if it will reduce our overall options by two.

I would be surprised if they gave a straight answer.

I guess Fortune might be kind of chatty? And she's the one who made the rules, so...

I will attempt to speak to the Emperor. He is my patron, if it's within the bounds of the rules, he may be willing to answer.

[If nothing else, she actually has to catch the Arcana's attention.]

If they're doing a three-way match to self-correct for their brackets being skewed, that probably means they're going to do the same with the next. And then we'll be at the final match.
We're running out of fucking time.

That's why we can't throw in for any of them. I'm not advocating for that. Maybe once I would have, but not now.
But some of us literally have no life beyond what we've been given again here. I'm not the only dead girl walking.
I thought— Okay. Fuck. I can shelve that research for now. I'll go back to it after this.

[Excuse her, she's slightly numb with shock just this second.]
Even so. I think once the Jaunt is over, we all need to have a meeting. Now that we've got a more definite time frame for how little we have left.

Are you going to be all right?

I was betting on more time and I should have known better. I'm just going to have to-- well, shift some plans around.
But I'll be okay in the long run. I think. This... was a good wake-up call for me.

Is it possible they didn't intend this to involve three participants?
[Yes she's thinking of someone else putting a name in the goblet of fire]

I hope they did intend it, I'd rather not deal with the force that can overwhelm them.

It is unprecedented for the competition-bullshit leg of things, though, and I'd bank on it cutting two out at once. They want to narrow the field to two.
And they apparently want to do it fast.

[Which she sounds decidedly neutral on.]

Because I, for one, would like to take five minutes to think about something other than having to continue to pass as Katsuragi.

Congratulations, Sento, you're member number three of the planning committee.
